We are looking forward to welcoming you to Veg Patch Kitchen. Please read all of the terms and conditions below before you book your course. When you book your course you agree to these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions apply to courses booked directly through Veg Patch Kitchen. You can find our Privacy Notice here.
Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to our courses in Ironbridge. Different terms and conditions apply to our online courses and can be found here.
We run our courses in a kitchen, which means that there can be the usual risks of hot ovens, knives to cut yourself on and things to trip over. Whilst we will do our best to limit any risk of injury you also have to be responsible for your own safety whilst you are with us. Please wear clothes that are suitable for the activity and that you don’t mind getting a bit of flour or dough on. We will provide you with an apron but these do not cover your clothes entirely. Please wear sensible low heeled shoes that have covered toes.
Once you have made your booking and we have confirmed it, the booking is not transferable to another date. You can transfer the booking to another person, but please let us know their name and contact details.
A cancellation fee of £25.00 will apply if you cancel up to one week before the course commences. If you cancel in the 7 days leading up to the course a cancellation fee of the full amount will apply.
We reserve the right to cancel the course at any time. We will do this only in exceptional circumstances. For example, heavy snow in winter might make the local roads unpassable. We will refund you in full or offer an alternative date that suits you.
We book on a first-come-first-served basis upon receipt of payment.
We will send you a confirmation email of your booking when we have received payment.
The course details given on this website may be subject to slight variation.
We can accept bookings from people aged 12-18 with the consent of their parent or legal guardian.
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are non-refundable. You can transfer your voucher to someone else.
Please tell us about any food allergies that you have.
Please let us know about any disabilities you have. We run our courses from buildings that do not have full disabled access so we may not be able to meet your needs but we will do our best to accommodate you.
The courses are run from Kath’s family home in Ironbridge where there are children and dogs. We will keep the dogs under control, however we do want you to be aware that they will be free in the garden.
Our home is reached by a long steep drive which needs to be driven with care. Full driving directions will be provided on booking.
COVID guidelines as at June 2021:
We have carried out a full risk assessment before reopening our cookery school. We are legally required to comply with COVID regulations.
If you have symptoms of COVID you must not attend. You can find out what the symptoms of COVID are at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
In order to comply with regulations you will be asked to maintain social distancing of 1m+ and wear a face covering throughout the course unless we are eating or drinking at the table. Masks will be available.
We have installed hand sanitiser stations at the entry to the cookery school and the WC, please use these before entering.
We will be carrying out increased cleaning throughout the day.
We have installed automatic soap dispensers, lever taps and paper towel dispensers in the cookery school and bathroom.
We will be regularly washing our hands throughout the course.
We have reduced class sizes to comply with social distancing rules.
The door and window will be open throughout the course and fly screens in place to ensure adequate ventilation.
Kath will take a lateral flow test before each course and it is recommended that, if possible, you take a lateral flow test before attending. These are freely available at chemists and testing centres and you can find your nearest location here https://maps.test-and-trace.nhs.uk.
There will be a one-way system in place and Kath will explain this at the start of the course.
Your contact details will be maintained for 21 days after the course to comply with the NHS Test & Trace Service.
We look forward to welcoming you to Veg Patch Kitchen Cookery School
