Bread Basics Full Day, 10am-4pm, £140pp
On our full day course we have plenty of time to bake a range of breads, discuss and practice techniques and solve common problems. We make a white dough and turn into a focaccia, a spelt loaf, a wholemeal loaf and a flavoured bread. You will learn
- how to mix your dough properly
- how to use the three different yeasts
- ways to flavour your bread
- different shaping techniques
- when your bread is ready to bake
- the way to score/slash your dough
- how to get the best out of your oven
- when your bread is baked
This course is suitable for novices and for those with more experience but want to refresh or learn new skills. Our class sizes are small (maximum of 5 people) so everyone gets plenty of attention. We make sure you have a lovely, relaxed day of learning new skills.
It is a hands-on class and you make all your own bread to take home to share with family and friends.
We start the day with a cup of tea/coffee and cake, enjoy a homemade lunch with a glass of wine/beer and refreshment breaks throughout the day.
You take home all of the bread that you make and my 20+ page advice/ recipe booklet.

Half Day Bread Basics, £85
On this course we make a white dough to make a focaccia and a wholemeal or spelt loaf. We also make pizzas to enjoy during the course.
We cover the fundamentals of bread making so that you leave feeling confident that you can make delicious bread at home. During the course we learn
- how to mix your dough properly
- about using the three different yeasts
- how to shape your loaf
- when your loaf is ready to bake
- about getting the best out of your oven
- when your loaf is baked
Our class sizes are small so everyone gets attention. You take home the bread that you make and our 20+ page recipe/advice booklet.
